Field Trip page
Field trips are not only an integral part to inquiry-based learning but also fun. Safety is taken seriously so student disapline is strickly inforced at all times while we are on a field trip.
Mr. J is always looking for new field trips so send him your ideas.

Oregon State University comes to Parker
|
Mr. Heder has been working with geology students from Oregon State University in the study of the local Bouse Formation. Back in 2012 the Dean of the Geology Department at the Eugene Campus contacted Mr. Heder to help in getting a grant to study the Bouse Formation in and around Parker. The grant was approved and field study of the Bouse has been ongoing since. Information from this study has worked it's way into Field Trips for Parker High School Earth Science students. On the left are pictures of our most recent trip to Osborne Wash where students studied Tertiary and Quaternary formations including sections of the 30 million year old Bouse.
